MDA publishes RFI for agency information management and software services program

The Missile Defense Agency began researching information on small businesses that could provide software development, data management, and other related services to support the modernization and operation of a data repository at the agency-wide.

MDA released the Information Request for the Agency’s Information Management and Software Services Program to help assess the current market’s capabilities of small businesses to meet its requirements, obtain recommendations from industry on acquisition strategies and contracting approaches and to identify potential barriers to competitive award, according to notice posted Friday.

The AIMSS program at the Von Braun Complex on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, manages the devices in support of data collection and analysis efforts. The AIMSS infrastructure includes a test and development area A for data distribution and archiving and a test and development area B for data analysis and software development efforts.

MDA seeks information on potential offerors who can oversee, maintain, modernize and operate its data repository in order to streamline data analysis, archiving and dissemination efforts; develop and support business-driven data initiatives; design and secure accreditation of custom software for data analysis, archiving and test resource planning; and implement technology platforms at an approved cloud service provider to improve user experience for data archiving and distribution.

Responses to the RFI are expected on January 18.
